Congratulations to Narinder Singh Badhan, CEO of QE Foodstores for winning the Cherry Auction with his $50,000 bid!
Narinder’s winning bid was topped up by Sydney Markets Credit Services with an additional $20,000 - making it a grand total of $70,000 raised for the Sydney Children's Hospitals Foundation. Wandin Valley Farms are proud to have been the cherry supplier for this fantastic event raising funds for such a special cause. We are grateful to be bestowed with such an honour! 🤴 On November 9th 2023 at Sydney Markets our cherries were entered for the annual cherry auction by our Sydney Market wholesaler Brendo Lai of Fresh Produce Group. 🍒
Former NSW Premier Kristina Keneally, now CEO of Sydney Children’s Hospital Foundation was at Sydney Markets to select the best cherries of the season for the upcoming 42nd Cherry Auction. She was presented with 8 boxes of cherries from NSW and VIC growers. After repeated tastings, Kristina Keneally decided the winning box of cherries was from us…Wandin Valley Farms! 🏆 The Cheery Nebula, presented by Fresh Produce Group, will be up for auction at the Sydney Markets Foundation Gala Dinner on Saturday 11th November. Last year’s box of cherries successfully raised $80,000 for the Sydney Children’s Hospitals Foundation. This year, with such a rare cherry variety set for auction, we all hope to raise a record breaker for the Sydney Children’s Hospitals Foundation once again. Applications are now open!
